Technology
Q-Switched (QS) laser
The high-energy Q-switched laser is the most effective method for removing naturally acquired and artificially created pigmentation, with minimal risk of damage to surrounding tissue. The energy fractionation capability of ALMA-Q provides additional options for effective treatment of skin aging problems.
The ALMA-Q emits photoacoustic shock waves into the treatment area via high intensity laser radiation with ultra-short nanosecond pulses. This unique method creates microtrauma in the dermis by treating only the targeted tissue, without thermal damage and coagulation of surrounding non-targeted areas.
Single Pulse and Double Pulse operating modes
With ALMA-Q, energy can be delivered through two modes of operation - Single Pulse and Double Pulse. In Double Pulse, the energy is split into two consecutive pulses, reducing the peak power. This allows maximum energy to be applied, up to 2 joules per pulse. This distributes it evenly over the skin without risk of epidermal injury. Both modes of operation are applicable at wavelengths of 1064 nm and 532 nm.
Four different wavelengths
The ALMA-Q works with four different wavelengths to provide a full spectrum of solutions for multi-colour tattooing.
Each of these wavelengths targets a different color. The high-intensity QSW 1064 nm laser removes darker colors from tattoos, while 532 nm is effective on brighter colors such as red, orange and yellow. 585 nm specifically targets sky-blue, and 650 nm targets green and cyan.
Fractional Q-Switched laser with penetration depth control
ALMA-Q features the first fractional Q-switched laser for skin rejuvenation. The ability to work at different depths allows specialists to combine superficial and deeper treatments, depending on the area, skin type and indication they are treating. Working in different depths can also be applied to the same area, in the same session, and so the results achieved are even better.
Quasi-Long Pulsed Nd:YAG Laser (QLP)
The Quasi-Long Pulsed Nd:YAG laser generates sub-millisecond pulses at a high repetition rate of 5Hz and provides both rejuvenation treatments and vascular lesion removal procedures. The QLP laser heats the dermis safely and effectively, stimulating new collagen synthesis and skin tightening. It also operates in extremely short pulse mode, making it ideal for removing vessels less than 50 microns in diameter.
Long Pulsed Nd:YAG Laser (LP)
ALMA-Q also features a Long-Pulsed Nd:YAG laser for the treatment of vascular lesions, malformations and deeper veins. The extended laser energy exposure allows for deeper penetration and more powerful heating. This successfully treats deeper lesions that could not be eliminated with other, shorter wavelengths.
Tips
Fractional
It organizes energy into a non-ablative grid of 7x7 pixels, leaving the surrounding tissue unaffected. Sites of micro-injury unlock a wound-healing process that stimulates neocollagenesis, fully restoring the target tissue. It can work at 5 different depths, allowing for refinement of therapies for maximum success.
HomoGenius Handpiece
It treats pigmented lesions and tattoos using a homogenized, square-shaped laser beam with uniform intensity that prevents single burns in the work area. You can choose between 3x3 and 5x5 mm2 working area, covering the treatment area without overlapping the pulses. It can also be used in Q-Switched mode.
Focus
It has 7 different working area sizes from 1 to 7 mm. It is designed to remove different types and depths of hyperpigmentation as well as different colors of tattoos. It can be used in three operating modes: Q-Switched, Long Pulsed or Quasi-Long Pulsed Nd:YAG.
Collimated
This tip delivers the energy via parallel beams with minimum scattering, regardless of the distance to the skin. This allows the operator to perform procedures without constant skin contact and with better visibility of the target area. The working area of 8 mm provides excellent coverage in a short time. It can be used in three modes: Q-Switched, Long Pulsed and Quasi-Long Pulsed Nd:YAG.
Spectrum-Y & Spectrum-R:
Spectrum tips provide the ALMA-Q with two additional wavelengths to tackle stubborn tattoo colors. Spectrum-Y (585 nm) removes sky-blue and Spectrum-R (650 nm) removes green and cyan.
